If learning analytics can help improve student success in courses, what impact does this have on downstream department or program enrollment and faculty workload? In this session, Dr. Paul Graf, Senior Lecturer in Economics at Indiana University, and a six-time LA fellow in IU’s Center for Learning Analytics and Student Success (CLASS), will share his lessons learned using analytics to inform redesign of introductory economics courses IU students had been encouraged to take at a community college -- until recently. As a result, IU's Economics department enrollment has increased, leading to a shift in his focus from student data to enrollment management, curricular analytics and policy, and faculty teaching load.
