Looking to recharge your teaching toolkit before fall? Mark your calendar for #DES26.
Sam Houston State University Online is hosting the 15th annual Digital Education Summit, a free, two-day virtual event on June 25–26, 2026, designed for anyone working in or around online teaching and learning. Whether you're refining a course, exploring new tools, or just curious about where digital education is headed, this is a low-stakes way to spend a summer morning getting some fresh ideas.
Both days open with a keynote:
- Day 1 features Dr. Michelle Weise on rethinking how higher ed prepares learners for a changing world of work
- Day 2 features Dr. Justin Louder on shifting AI's role in education from content delivery toward intentional learning design and assessment.
The session lineup covers online teaching and learning, accessibility, instructional innovation, AI in higher education, and emerging digital education practices. Sessions are flexible, so you can build a personal agenda around what's most useful to you right now.
Note: The summit is scheduled in Central Time.
Registering provides access to recordings. If you have any questions, please contact infoDES@shsu.edu.
