The flipped classroom approach has been gaining traction and appeal in higher education. Some see it as an innovative pedagogical approach which can transform and energize teaching and learning. Others have questions about practical challenges in application. In this session, we will examine the components of a flipped classroom, why educators use it, what recent research says about it, and consider its advantages and disadvantages. We will also examine multiple Blackboard tools that support the flipped classroom model and consider ways to apply this model.
