Adopting, Creating and Using OERs
Free, hands-on workshop sponsored by MarylandOnline
Location
Off Campus
Date & Time
October 22, 2019, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Description
In this hands-on workshop, participants will discover whether they want to adopt a commercial (or noncommercial) resource completely, adopt but edit-and-mix content, or create content from scratch.
They will explore which format works best for their courses, e.g., an open textbook, a printed or e-coursepack with both free and licensed content, a course management system format, a collection of digital videos, e-book, or something else altogether.
Participants will learn where to look for existing content and spend time working hands-on with online resources created to make their concepts a reality.
Facilitator: Karen Rege, dean of Teaching, Learning and Innovation at Harford Community College. Light refreshments.
