New: Issue Digital Badges Directly Through myUMBC
Digital badge issuance just got easier!
We are excited to share a new way for authorized microcredential issuers to issue digital badges directly through myUMBC. Instead of submitting a ticket each time you need to issue microcredentials, authorized issuers can now manage issuance themselves through the myUMBC Admin tab.
We hope this new process makes issuing microcredentials faster, easier, and more convenient, while also giving issuers greater visibility into who has received their microcredentials and when.
🚀 Getting Started
Before you can issue microcredentials through myUMBC, you’ll need to complete a one-time authorization for each microcredential you’re approved to issue.
👉 Complete the DocuSign authorization form here
Once your authorization is complete, you’ll receive access to manage the microcredential through myUMBC → Admin → Badges. From there, you can add recipients using their Campus IDs or usernames and issue microcredentials directly.
Already authorized? You’re ready to start issuing!
If you have an earner without a Campus ID, you will still use the existing DCI ticket process to issue their badge.

A Special Thank You!
A huge thank you to Collier Jones, Campus Portal Architect and myUMBC wizard, for helping bring this new functionality to life! We’re excited to get this new process into your hands and hope it makes recognizing your learners’ accomplishments even easier. 🎓
